TODD KATA
Todd E. Kata is a founder and managing member of the General Partner and Investment Advisor. Mr. Kata serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the General Partner and Investment Advisor. Prior to joining Breacher, Mr. Kata served as Chief Operating Officer of Varna Capital LLC, a discretionary fundamental value Equity Long /Short hedge fund. Prior to Varna, Mr. Kata was responsible for equity long/short manager research and allocations at Man Group, plc, a $112 billion asset management firm specializing in alternative investment strategies. Prior to Man Group, Mr. Kata was Chief Operating Officer at Calypso Capital Management, a Europe-focused Equity Long/Short hedge fund where he was able to grow the firm's assets to over $1.25 billions over seven years. Prior to Calypso, he was with Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for running the equity long/ short allocations for the Alternative Investment Partners division within Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and The Carlyle Group, where he helped build their liquid Alternative Asset Management business from inception. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in Institutional equity and fixed income trading. Mr. Kata graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics and a certificate in Political Economy.
